Back (again) for 2010!
Posted on January 2nd, 2010 by Alex Rogahn in News
Hello again from us here at TutShelf!
First things first, I apologize that the site has been down yet again, something messed up the mySQL database and I never got round to fixing it until the new year, with designing taking a back seat as I prepare for my mock exams.
In the new year we plan to pump out some new tutorials and articles, however expect the schedule to be a little off. Nonetheless we should have some great content to interest and educate you about the subject of Web Design, Development & Photography as well as other forms of Geekery. Furthermore we hope to implement a user Forum and iPhone optimized version of the site to help the growth and usefulness of the site.

5 Addictive and Beautifully Designed Flash Games
Posted on October 9th, 2009 by Alex Rogahn in Inspiration
I’ve always been a bit of a Flash game junkie. Before my Web Design days they were all I used a computer for. They were also what partly led me to Flash animation & Actionscript which again, then led me to where I’m sat now – Web Design. In this post I’ll show you 5 of my favourite games with some truly stunning graphics and really addictive gameplay!

Well, it’s finally here! The brand new version of TutShelf. Version “Two-Dot-Oh”. We’ve worked exceptionally hard on making it much superior than the last version. As you will have noticed we’ve completely revamped the design as well as the addition of a new staff member and a few other things. All of which will be revealed further on in this post.
Quiet tribute to all 9/11 victims.

It’s a bit of a late post and I know this is a Design Blog but it’s something that should be heard. So here’s TutShelf’s tribute to the saddening events which occurred 9/11.
Should designers be penalized for unintentional ripping.
Posted on April 14th, 2009 by Alex Rogahn in Debates
Hello, I thought I’d bring up a rather interesting discussion and the reason I am bringing it up is because I unintentionally created a mockup for TutShelf with a colour scheme very similar to Mint’s. It certainly wasn’t wasn’t intentional, nor are the colours 100% identical but when I show the image you will see the slight similarities. Basically this post is just discussing how guilty we as designers should feel if we create a website that looks similar to another.
50 inspiring CD covers.
Posted on April 11th, 2009 by Alex Rogahn in Inspiration
Music is a huge part of my life and it probably is in yours too. I’m always listening to something, whether it be when I’m designing… or even in boring school lessons (shh ;) ). Although to me the CD format is now pretty outdated, it doesn’t stop amazingly inspiring artwork just catch your eye in the music stores. So I decided to put together 50 inspiring CD covers to help you get your creative juices flowing.
I owe Rob and Steve a bit of credit for helping find a few covers too. :)
